Sicilian Pistachio Pesto
Our Sicilian Pistachio Pesto is a true Italian specialty. It embodies the excellence of Southern Italy, originating from the fertile volcanic soil near Mount Etna, specifically from Bronte.
Bronte is a small town close to Catania in Sicily, renowned as the Italian capital of pistachios in Europe. Bronte pistachios are unique because, unlike American or Asian varieties, the kernels are typically a yellowish color. This distinct characteristic has contributed to Bronte’s pistachios being highly valued and celebrated worldwide. Italians often refer to them as the “Green Gold of Sicily.” In addition to their vibrant green color, any product made with Bronte pistachios is known for its delicate, warm, and delicious flavor.
Our pesto is a classic Sicilian dish, perfect as a condiment for pasta. We generally recommend pairing it with short pasta. It’s simply excellent! Be sure to check out the recipe included on the jar as well! Remember to cook your pasta al dente! We also offer a spicy version that includes sundried tomatoes and hot peppers!
Spicy version with sundried tomatoes and hot peppers now available!
