Sicilian Salted Capers of Pantelleria
These marvelous Sicilian salted capers are known as “The Excellence of Italy.” They come exclusively from the island of Pantelleria, Sicily.
These exceptional capers play a permanent role in Mediterranean flora. From May to September, caper bushes bloom, and the buds develop into the unique nutty spice we cherish.
Pantelleria is a hot, dry, wind-swept volcanic island located south of Sicily and east of Tunisia. As a result, the capers from Pantelleria are regarded as the best in the world for four main reasons:
- 1. The volcanic soil imparts a distinct flavor.
- 2. The temperature swings between hot days and cool nights enhance their strong fragrance.
- 3. There is a rich tradition of cultivating and harvesting capers on Pantelleria.
- 4. The specific variety of caper, known as spinosa nocellara, is rare and grows only in Pantelleria.
These Pantelleria “capperi,” as they are called in Italian, are so unique that they are the only type certified with IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) status.
This remarkable Sicilian spice is naturally preserved with sea salt and can be used in pasta dishes, meat dishes, sauces, and various condiments. Taste them to believe their exceptional quality!

Packaged well and seems to be fresh. To early to give a good review, but I have ordered from this company in the past and not been disappointed.
