Italian Pistachio Spread – Artisan Made in Sicily
Our Italian Pistachio Spread is one of the most requested products of the traditional pastry industry in Sicily. As a matter of fact, our producer made this particular specialty item one of his main focus points during production. Our Artisan uses it to fill and garnish Italian panettone cake which is a classic Italian tradition during the holiday season.
Giannetti Artisan’s Artisanal Pistachio Spread travels a long way from Mount Etna’s fertile volcanic soil. Pistachios in our spread grow in Bronte, a small town in the Catania province of Sicily. Bronte is known as the Italian Pistachio capital. Unlike American or Asian pistachios, Bronte’s pistachio kernel is nearly always a yellowish color. Ironically, this characteristic has made Bronte’s pistachio fruit of important value. In addition, its intense green color and delicate taste makes it a world renowned “Italian excellence”.
Pistachios in Bronte are picked every 2 years near the end of year and supply of Bronte Pistachios must last until the next harvest. For this reason the Bronte pistachio is so exclusive in both taste and price.
Having said this, use Giannetti Artisans’s Pistachio spread is a breakfast companion for toasted bread or use to decorate, fill and/or garnish cakes and crepes. Simply divine!!
