For those unfamiliar with taralli, here’s a brief overview: Taralli are Italian snack foods shaped like rings, commonly found throughout southern Italy. These tasty crackers have a texture similar to breadsticks or pretzels and are available in both sweet (often sugar-glazed) and savory varieties. Savory taralli are typically flavored with ingredients such as onion, garlic, poppy seeds, fennel, pepper, chili, or plain. Whatever the flavor, taralli Crackers offer a delightful explosion of flavors and sensations.
Giannetti Artisans sources these crackers from a small business in Bari, which crafts them using a secret family recipe that has never been revealed. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil used in the multigrain taralli is sourced from Bitonto, known as the Olive Oil capital of Puglia. The flour comes from the “Tavoniere delle Puglie” area, the second-largest wheat-producing region in Italy, right after Padania.
The Apulia region is renowned for its baking expertise and high-quality wheat products. If you examine the shape of the crackers closely, you’ll notice the distinctive hallmark of being handmade.

We just received our first shipment of these multigrain taralli. They are clearly handmade. Their flavor is more hearty than the typical taralli from Puglia and the various grains really shine. While we don’t know whether we could have found this kind in Puglia, they are nonetheless DELICIOUS! These only list EVOO among the ingredients while some of the others also list olive oil before EVOO. We have grown to love taralli on our various trips to Puglia (including Bari, Lecce, Altamura, etc.) these rank right up there with the best tasting and freshest we have had. Highly recommended.
